Samuel Reed Haney Jr. age 69 of Pancake, Washington, PA passed away peacefully on November 20, 2017.

Born on January 18, 1948 he was the son of the late Agnes Whitner Haney and Samuel Reed Haney Sr.

He was the beloved husband of Betty Haney since May 8, 1971; loving father of Candy (Corey) Frenz and Chad Reed (Shawna) Haney; cherished grandfather of Cooper Reed Haney, Ella Reets Haney, Isabella Ailis and step grandfather of Jace and Kainen; dear brother of Rebecca (William) Hixenbaugh and Nancy (Jack) Picio; Also survived by many in laws, nieces and nephews.

He was a 1967 graduate of Trinity High School and served with the US Army after graduation.

Reed enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him

Family and friends are welcome to a visitation Friday, November 24, 2017 from 1-6 pm at Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the funeral home at 11:00 am.  The burial will be private.

Reed was a good man. He would do anything he could for anybody that needed help. He always found the good in people when everyone else was looking at the bad. He didn’t like people speaking negatively about others. That is a quality of a good man. We should all hope to be able meet and greet him in the near future.
