Susana Maria Rodríguez Myer, of Pittsburgh, transitioned on September 29, 2021. She was 68 years old. Born in Puerto Padre, Cuba, on June 29, 1953, Susana emigrated from Cuba to the United States at the age of nine. She was daughter and only child of the late Ramiro Rodríguez Queral and Georgina Victoria Font Rodríguez. She is survived by her daughter, Elise Victoria Myer, and her daughter-in-law, Sharma Ann Phillips. Countless others have loved her. Susana lived her life to the fullest and on her own terms, especially post-retirement. She loved the ocean, good music and dancing, delicious foods, traveling, meeting new people, foraging for mushrooms, helping other immigrants find their way in a new country, and simply enjoying life’s offerings and blessings. Those who mourn her early passing must know that she faced death unafraid; she fully believed that this life is only one dimension of our existence. Susana also believed in helping others, especially those who leave their native lands seeking safer and more promising futures, and those who suffer the devastation of natural disasters. In Susana’s honor, consider donating to World Central Kitchen, the American Red Cross, or Catholic Charities. Susana desired no services. ¡P’alante!
