THERESA D.(Rudick) Glod

Age 85, of Bethel Park died peacefully on September 26th . She is survived by her two loving sons: Eric (wife Kathryn) of Peters Twp., and Brian (wife Karen) of Scotch Plains, NJ, and her sister Mildred Jans (Rudick) of Allison Park. Theresa enjoyed the love of five grandchildren: Michael, Kevin, Olivia, Adam and Mason. Born in 1936 to parents John and Mary Rudick.  Theresa grew up on Pittsburgh’s South Side, and raised her family in Peters Twp., where she lived for 27 years.  In addition to her beloved husband Thomas Glod (1932-2018) and her parents, Theresa joins her wonderful siblings in heaven: Joseph, Walt, Harry, James, Andrew, Anna, Stanley, Agnes and Mary.    She was also thankful for her dozens of loving nieces and nephews, who greatly contributed to her family-oriented life.  Theresa graduated from South High School in 1953. She was an outstanding multi-sport athlete, and her class valedictorian. She married Thomas Glod, her dearest husband of 61 years in 1957 and remained a dedicated and loving wife for all their years together and beyond. Theresa had a variety of jobs throughout her life, most importantly as a homemaker raising a family.  When the boys reached teenage years, Theresa went back to work for 25+ years in the travel industry, which she very much enjoyed.  Theresa was a deeply religious and spiritual woman.  For many years, she was a Eucharistic minister at St. Benedict’s church in McMurray.   She can best be remembered as a wonderful woman that was a dedicated caretaker for so many loved ones during difficult times.    Family and friends are welcome on Monday, October 4thfrom 2-4 and
6-8 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd. McMurray, PA 15317. Funeral mass to be held on October 5th at 12:00 PM at St. John XXIII Parish, formerly St. Benedict the Abbot Church in McMurray, followed by burial at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Theresa’s name to St. John XXIII Parish, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 15317.
