Theresa Jean Barrett, affectionately known as Terri to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024, in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, at the age of 68. Born on July 27, 1955, in the same vibrant city, Terri’s life was a canvas of creativity and warmth, reflecting the very essence of her loving and humorous spirit.

Terri’s life was marked by her devotion to her family, her passion for creativity, and her innate ability to bring laughter into any room. She is survived by her beloved children, Robin Lee Tennant (Bryan) and Robert Edmund Barrett, her sisters, Carol Butler (Robert), Barbara Bell, Tina Lambert (Matthew), her stepmother, Lois Warren. She is also survived by her many beloved grandchildren, Jennifer Lisovich (Steve), Tiffany Tennant, great-grandchildren, Emma Tennant, Hunter Lisovich, Bo Lisovich, Jason Tennant, and numerous nieces and nephews, who were all the pride and joy of her life. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Charles Barrett “R.C.”, her father, Robert L. Warren “Country”, mother, Joanna Sullivan and her stepfather, Jerome “Sully” Sullivan.  All their hearts are filled with many memories of a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, whose love knew no bounds, and whose guidance was both gentle and wise.

Terri’s artistic talents were evident in every aspect of her life. She found solace and joy in crafts and painting, often saying that each brushstroke was a word in the story she was telling. Her home was adorned with her creations, each piece a testament to her dedication to beauty and expression. Terri’s creativity wasn’t limited to just crafts; it was woven into the fabric of her daily life, inspiring those around her to find their own outlets for expression. Her love for animals, dogs, cats, and fish was ever so evident throughout her life, from the many four-legged companions to her many fish tanks and beautiful ponds she once cared for…she is survived by her adorable terriers, Reba and Rosie who will now find solace and love from Rob, Terri’s son.

Her infectious laughter and sense of humor made her a delight to be around. Friends and family will fondly remember Terri for her quick wit and the funny anecdotes she shared, often leaving everyone in stitches. Her presence was a source of joy and comfort, and it is this legacy of love and laughter that will continue to echo in the lives of those she touched.

Terri’s character could best be described as a blend of creativity, love, and humor. She had the rare ability to see the world in vibrant color, to love without reservation, and to find humor in the everyday. Her spirit was a beacon that drew people to her, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

In her journey through life, Terri was guided by the words of the Lord: “My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior” Luke 1:46-47. This verse encapsulates Terri’s approach to life, always seeking beauty, striving for connection, and loving with all her heart through God.  Her passionate pursuit of life’s wonders was evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

As we bid farewell to Terri, we celebrate a life lived with boundless creativity, unconditional love, and a humor that brightened the darkest of days. She will be remembered not for how she died, but for how she lived: with a heart full of passion, a soul brimming with creativity, and a smile that could light up the entire room. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort us as we hold her close in our thoughts and hearts.

Terri’s life was a beautiful journey that has come to a close in the physical sense, but her spirit endures. She leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and laughter that will not be forgotten. As we honor her memory, we take comfort in knowing that she lived a life full of purpose and joy, and that she will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Please join us in celebrating Terri’s life and memorial.  Services for Theresa Jean Barrett will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 12:00 Noon, at the Sharpsburg Family Worship Center, 600 Clay Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15215, luncheon immediately following the service.

My sweet Terri….life without you will definitely leave an open hole in my heart!! ❤️ You were a beacon of light each morning when I would call you, you always helped keep me grounded just like our Momma! You would tell me the truth, even when I didn’t want to hear it! But mostly I will miss your laughter, the unconditional love you always gave to me….we had so much in common…you were my artsy buddy, one who I always could relate too! I miss you so much, I’m so sorry that your life was cut short, you were too young to be taken away from us so quickly! Your legacy will live on forever, your memories will never fade away!! You are finally at peace, living your best in heaven! Gods promise to me and you, one day we will be together again! You will be forever in my heart…love your little sister…Tina

I love you mom! I can't believe you are gone. I know you are finally at peace in heaven with dad and all our other loved ones but my heart is broken. I lost my best friend. Who do I talk to on my way to work and on my way home from work? I am really going to miss our talks. Give dad and everyone else a hug from me.
