Victor Alan Rood passed away peacefully on September 15, 2023 at the age of 68, after a valiant battle with dementia. Born on August 8, 1955 in Saint Clair Mi. Victor was a beloved father, papaw, brother, uncle, and friend.

Vic is survived by his children, Shay Hicks and Falon (Chris) Barretto, his beloved grandchildren, Maleah, Dominic, Jonah, and Eloise, and his sister Beverly Hilterbrick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Betty Rood and his brother Raymond Rood Jr.

After graduating from Saint Clair High School, Vic served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his tour of duty, he settled down and started a family.

Vic was a huge fan of Nascar and enjoyed racing cars, three-wheelers, and dirt bikes himself as a young man. He learned to play the guitar as a child and that joy of playing continued throughout his life, teaching his daughter and granddaughter to play as well.

Vic’s career centered around his passion for gardening. He spent many years dedicated to landscaping for commercial properties and golf courses. His green thumb and attention to detail transformed outdoor spaces into breathtaking landscapes.

He found solace in nature and cherished spending time outside, surrounded by the beauty of the natural world. Whether it was tending to his yard, planting trees or exploring the great outdoors, Vic’s love for nature was evident in everything he did.

Gone but never forgotten, Victor Rood will be truly missed by all that knew him.

The family will hold a private memorial service in his honor.
