Joseph Vernon Amorose, 79, of Bethel Park, PA, Asleep in Jesus, Saturday, September 16, 2023. Best friend and loving husband of 60 years to Grace Amorose; beloved father of Caito Amorose (Devin Corboy) and Jason Amorose (Andrea); cherished grandfather of Anton and Angeline Amorose. Joe is preceded in death by parents Joseph and Helen Amorose and brother James Amorose; he is survived by his sister Edith Duerr (William), brother Robert Amorose, sister Deborah D’Amore (David), sisters-in-law Eileen Engel and Judith Amorose, and dear friend Charlene Chesaro. Joe was a respected uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Advancing his career from office administration with the Air Force in Alaska and Ohio, Joe progressed through many positions in financial operations over the next 50 years, ending with roles of Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. His main passion throughout remained in the restaurant industry.

Joe was revered as a selfless individual who always put others first. He enjoyed sports, music, dancing, road trips, his grand dogs, and the ocean. From memorable summers at the Jersey shore, to visiting his daughter on the Oregon coast and his son on the North Carolina coast. His adventures spanned from the Cliffs of Moher to a lifelong ‘dream’ excursion in Nova Scotia, and many others destinations. Joe especially treasured the many weekends spent at “Serenity,” his Swiss chalet in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania.

Joe loved much and was much loved. He felt blessed to spend his last 16 years with his wife surrounded by their children and grandchildren close to home. He will be missed greatly by all his family and friends.

Visitation at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd, McMurray, PA on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Louise De Marillac Catholic Church, 320 McMurray Rd, Pittsburgh, PA followed by burial service with full military honors at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 2900 Washington Rd, McMurray, PA.

Our deepest sympathy to Grace and the entire family. Joe has been a great friend for many years. My entire family has shared such great times with Joe and his family. I had the pleasure of knowing Joe on both a business and personal level. I have nothing but great memories of the many conversations we had and the experiences we shared. I was sad to see the impact of his battle with that terrible disease in recent years, but i will always cherish the great memories of our close friendship. RIP dear friend!
