William G. Spoeri III

William G. Spoeri III, age 82, of McMurray, passed away February 17, 2021 at St. Clair Hospital

William “Bill” was born in Evanston, Illinois to the late William G. Spoeri Jr. and Elizabeth Ekamp Spoeri. He was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School in Mansfield, Ohio, earned an undergraduate degree from Oberlin College and a doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee.  Bill was a professor of physics at Washington and Jefferson College for more than 30 years.

Bill especially enjoyed playing tennis with friends, liked fishing and gardening and often relaxed by reading and listening to classical music.

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Thompson Spoeri, their son Gregory Spoeri of Pittsburgh; a sister, Barbara Ann Scott of Stafford, VA and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Katherine Spoeri Town, is deceased.  Bill will be dearly missed by all.
