Danial Nathan Fowler, 69 of Washington, fell asleep in death in his wife’s arms on December 24, 2023, surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with liver cancer. He was born in Scenery Hill, PA, on October 31, 1954, a son of Ernest Glenn and Ethel Irene Martin Fowler. He graduated from Bentworth High School. He had a degree in Business Management, and worked in Retail Management.

He married the love of his life, Kathy, on January 19, 1974. Together they raised their family in his hometown of Scenery Hill.

Dan was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, and the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was also a huge rock music and muscle and classic car fan, attending concerts and car shows with his family. He loved traveling with Kathy. They enjoyed time exploring the South, especially Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Charleston & Savannah. They were avid ‘Stone Walkers’, visiting many of the oldest cemeteries in the country. Dan was a Civil War buff, he and Kathy spent time exploring most of the battlefields and cemeteries of that era. He loved  the daytrips that he and Kathy took, most centered around covered bridges in the tri-state area. He also enjoyed traveling with their dear friends, Jim and Wendy Duggan. Above all else, Dan loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was a Jehovah’s Witness, faithfully serving in Brownsville (Centerville), Waynesburg, and Washington Congregations.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his wife Kathy (West), sons Derek and Ryan, daughter Allyshia Kohosek (Matt), and grandchildren Mason, Lucas, Nora, and Ellyana. Also surving are several nieces and nephews, among them he had grown especially close to Nelson, Shani, and Neil Nyandemoh, and their families. He felt blessed to be able to help raise Buddy(Stewart) Fowler and Vicki Murray. He is survived by his siblings, Ronald, Jack, and Linda. He also leaves behind a large circle of international friends. Additionally, fictive kin Melissa Edmond, Seth Lippert, and Tara Miller were dearly loved as his own children.

Services will be held at Washington Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 70 Cleveland Rd, at 3:30 on January 14. Zoom information can be provided upon request from the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
