Francine DeCou Arre, age 62, of Pleasant Hills, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on August 24, 2020.

Born on September 29, 1957,  she was the daughter of the late Ursula and Samuel DeCou.

Loving mother of William “Billy” (Victoria “Tori”) Arre; dear sister of Erika Sullivan and Jackie DeCou; and aunt of Steven (Daniela) McMahon and Lindsay Sullivan.

Francine had a love for travel. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed watching her son’s sports career grow over the years. She was a proud supporter of local animal rescue organizations, and even adopted two dogs; Skeeter and Peaches. She was a strong advocate for many charities, and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to one of her favorite charities; The Susan G. Koman Foundation, National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Alzheimers Foundation, The Brain Aneurysm Foundation or any animal rescue.

Please view and sign the family’s online guestbook at pittsburghcremation.com.

I am genuinely saddened by Fran’s passing. I will miss her and the varying conversations we would have that deeply encompassed more than just “Skeeter’s” medical issues. She loved him even with all his issues and they had a very strong bond. “Peaches” even in the short time had to realize how lucky to have been placed in Fran’s life; I know I was and I was just her Veterinarian. We developed a friendship through the years of his many visits and I always looked forward to her coming in. We discussed the battles she admirably faced and didn’t back down from, as well as her family and mine. When I told her I was traveling to Alaska, I think she was more excited than I was initIally. She just went on and on glowingly about her sister. I know in my life she made a difference and I will forever be grateful. I give my heartfelt sympathy to her family and may Fran Rest In Peace.

Never had the pleasure of meeting Fran in person, only spoke on the phone. I had the pleasure of working with Fran at DT. Sending healing prayers and comforting hugs. I am so sorry for your loss.
