Jane H. Sotomayor, age 86, of Somerset, PA passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 24, 2023. Jane was born on July 27, 1937, in Finchley, United Kingdom to the late Isabella and Johannes Coenen.

Cherished wife of the late John Sotomayor; Loving Mother to Heather (Robert Stoddard) Sotomayor, Donna Sotomayor, Peter (Kelly) Sotomayor, and Mark (Julie) Sotomayor; Dedicated Grandmother to Julie (Joe) Laxton, David (Qiong Li) Stoddard, Michelle (Tyler) Vaughn, Elizabeth Percy, John Percy, Sara Sotomayor, Shannon Sotomayor, Ian Sotomayor, Drew (Madison) Sotomayor, and Collin Sotomayor; Dear Great Grandmother to Cali and Jett Laxton and Zachary Stoddard.

Jane was a dedicated member to the Somerset community. She joined the Somerset Garden Club in 1991, where she later served as President from 2002-2003. She was also a member of the Somerset Welfare League from 1994-2020, serving as President in 2006. In addition, she was involved in the Somerset Historical Society, and the Somerset Country Club Women’s League. Jane was a master gardener, involved with the National Garden Club, where she was fortunate to serve as an accredited flower judge. She was also a contributing member to the Flight 93 Memorial’s Children’s Peace Garden. No matter the time or place, Jane was devoted to helping her community. She created a Lunch Bunch Group, as well as spent much of her time with Meals on Wheels, and Welcome Wagon.

Jane was truly someone special. Anyone who knew her, recognized her unwavering commitment towards helping others. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

Family and Friends are welcome on Saturday December 30, 2023, from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
