JANET (JONES) MAXWELL

On December 23, 2020, at the age of 91, Janet Maxwell passed away peacefully in her sleep. Wife of the late Samuel Hackman Maxwell. Adored mother of Karen (David) Cunningham, Vernon (Mary) Maxwell, Julia Maxwell and John (Cinda) Maxwell. Mimi to her seven beloved grandchildren: Kelsey & Abby Cunningham, Samuel, Bailee & Jack Maxwell, Shana Maxwell & Jensen Maxwell. Sister of the late Vernon Jones.

Janet was born on March 25, 1929 in Warren, PA to Vernon and Mildred Jones. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Mansfield State College, Janet went on to teach elementary music for nearly 30 years in the Mount Lebanon School District. She thoroughly enjoyed traveling, specifically to England, taking vacations with her family to Stone Harbor, New Jersey, and spending quality time with her kids and grandkids. Janet was also an incredibly talented piano player who loved performing for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and her infectious personality will be cherished forever.

At the family’s request, there will only be a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to Baptist Home Foundation Employee Appreciation Fund.
