Michele J. Clerget, age 89, of Lawrence, PA formerly of Dormont and Castle Shannon, passed away on January 8, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Donald R. Hostetler.

Born on July 1, 1933, in Montbeliard, France, she is the daughter of the late Pierre and Germaine Clerget.

Loving mother of Jaqueline Hamilton and Jean-Pierre Hostetler; grandmother of 4, Arielle Hostetler, Kaitlyn Kusky, Jaime Filler and Katie Morris; great grandmother of Brooks and Blake Kusky, Raya Burnette, Ethan and Matthew Morris, Jackson and Aiden Filler; dear sister of Jacques Clerget and Jean-Pierre Clerget; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Michele enjoyed swimming, knitting, sewing, and loved traveling and cooking. She spent much of her time volunteering with foundations such as Make a Wish, Project Linus, the Skating Club of Mt. Lebanon, Skate America, the Junior Olympics, National Veterans Wheelchair Games, French Teacher, Highmark Heath Pals, Blue Neighbors, Pittsburgh International Airport Ambassadors, Highmark Retirees (OOTB), and Christ United Methodist Church.

Our mom came to this country at age 21, married to a U.S. Serviceman. Along the way, she had two children and met and kept many friends. After retiring from Highmark (Blue Cross and Blue Shield) she traveled and volunteered to keep herself busy. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and traveled to see them at every opportunity. Michele was gracious with her time and would help so many in need. She will be greatly missed.

A gathering of family and friends is set to take place on Friday, January 13,2023 from 1-3 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray PA15317, 724-260-5546. Today, January 26, 2023 I just heard of Michelle’s passing. Please accept my deepest sympathy. She was a special lady full of life. Her beautiful knitted blankets for our Project Linus group at Christ Methodist Church put smiles on all our faces.
