Sarah Anne Soff, age 19, of Peters Township, Pennsylvania was called home by Our Father as a result of a car accident on Saturday, November 18, 2017.  Sarah was a 2017 graduate of Peters Township High School and was a freshman in the Nursing program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she was pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse and eventually a Pediatric Oncologist.

Sarah had a soul that knew no bounds, and the love she had was endless.  Sarah loved traveling, learning, working, picking sunflowers, watching sunsets and most of all spending time with her family and friends.  Her love for them was everlasting.  Sarah had a contagious smile, and always lived life to the fullest.  She touched the hearts of every person she met and was always committed to helping people in any way she could.  Even in death she continues to take care of others via the CORE organ donation program, through which she helped save the lives of several people on the transplant list.

Sarah is survived by her loving family, parents Steve and Georgia; siblings Christina, Michael, and Ava; grandparents Tom and Aggie Ritchey, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  She is also survived by her “Janis Drive neighborhood family” and her “work families” at Simmons Farm and at Justice, and by her many circles of friends.

A memorial mass will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 15317.

Dear Soff Family. I was Sarah's Math teacher for the past 2 years at Peters High School (and Michael the year prior). I cannot express my sympathy enough in words and was truly heart-broken to hear this news. Sarah was a rare gem and a special girl and it was so nice to have her in class for the past 2 years. She was always happy, kind, funny, compassionate, and was very well liked by all who were lucky enough to know her. My deepest sympathies and prayers are with you and your family in this time of grief. She will be missed dearly and thought of often by many here at Peters High School.

Dear Steve, Georgia, Christina, Michael, Ava, Tom and Aggie, My heart and prayers go out to you. I do not assume to understand the extent of your anguish, but I do know great loss. My own son died an untimely death two years ago. Sarah was, indeed, a special young woman. I had the honor of Sarah being in my English class at IUP. She was one of my favorite students. Her friendly, bright disposition made the classroom a better place. She was--and will continue--to leave soul-felt memories and influence upon my and my students' hearts.. Upon hearing of her passing, I quickly penned these words-- "Waves of grief swell and spill over in tears. There is only One who truly understands and to Him I turn. It’s for me and in memory of Sarah I pen these wrods: I place my heart on a silver platter— (as though it is mine to yield For I have been yours for so long And yet, again, I raise that which has been razed in me) —Lifting it to you, O my God My Great griefs My deepest sorrows All to you I yield I trust 'You are good Always true You are Light breaking through' You gently take my hurt Blending, molding Making something soft and Beautiful in a way that only reality and Truth can mix Then blanketing me in your cradling arms You breathe upon me winds of renewal Sufficient to go on a few more steps. Your Spirit infuses me And my soul rests once again as a weened child. The Secret-Keeper I trust You." May you find Peace even in not having all of the answers and in your cherished memories with Sarah.

Dear Soff Family, Our prayers go out to all of you for your loss. We were so fortunate to have had Sara work for us for many years, we felt like she was one of the family. She was not only a hard worker, but was the true definition of a model employee and human being. She was always happy and upbeat, never complained, trustworthy, and dependable. No matter what the day was like she always had on a happy face to all, even on the longest of days. It is hard to understand some things that happen to wonderful family's such as yours, but seeing your strength through this is an inspiration to us all, we will always remember Sarah and miss her smiling face. The Simmons family.
