Diane Lucas Ott of South Park, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, died peacefully among family on December 26th 2017. She was 78 years old. Beloved mother of Douglas Ott and Michelle (Charles) Ott Crookenden and grandmother to Patrick, Oliver and Grace. Devoted sisters Louise Schwartz and Dorothy Blagovich and sisters-in-law Joan (Allen) Davies and Thelma Lucas survive her along with many nieces and nephews. Her brothers John, Bill and Frank and sisters Lee and Carol predeceased her.

Diane graduated from the Shadyside School of Nursing and earned her BA in Education from California University (PA). She had a long career in healthcare and administration and a lifelong passion for the arts. Her career and heart was always in the service of others.

An accomplished artist herself, Diane shared her knowledge and passion as a docent with the Carnegie and Frick Museums and as volunteer for several Pittsburgh theaters. She was an adventurous traveler, visiting over 26 countries including Croatia, Egypt, India, Kenya, Nepal, Peru and many more. She had a special love for Paris, the city to which she returned with friends many times. Diane was fortunate to have many dear friends in the Pittsburgh community who were a constant source of joy and support during her life and through cancer. She was a compassionate and loving mother, sister and friend – she will be deeply missed by all.

Please join us for a remembrance service followed by lunch reception on Saturday, January 27th at Phipps Conservatory (Special Events Room) at 11:30 am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

Thanks to all for the many many cards letters emails and condolences. Mom was truly loved and not just by us! Grateful to the many who were able to make it to Phipps for the service which it seems was a perfect setting. Thanks goes to my hard working and thoughtful sister for doing the planning and decision making for the event. Great to see old friends and extended family and appreciate the stories and family memories that came with you all. Best Regards, Douglas
