Worked with Herk throughout my career at South Strabane Police Department. I always enjoyed working with Herk because of his sense of humor and he always made for a fun and entertaining shift, even if his jokes were a little stale. He was a good man, officer and I considered him a great friend. Herk will be missed by many and I offer all condolences to his loved ones for his loss. God Bless You All, and Herk, we will meet again my dear friend.

My heart breaks for you Ann, Vaughn, Eric and Andrea. I first met Herk over 30 years ago when he was a police officer in South Strabane. I had a client who made a stupid mistake and Herk realized this young man needed help and redirection rather than incarceration. It was clear to me then and throughout the years that I knew him that Herk was a good man with a kind heart. He also loved to laugh and was quick with a joke. I will miss him. Keeping all of you in my prayers!
