I met Herk years ago when I worked at a jewelry store in the Washington mall. We were robbed and he was the policeman who came . I was very young and scared and he was so kind and comforting . He even drove me to the court hearing. I wish I would’ve seen him over the years to tell him that I would never forget what he did for me. I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you all

He was a regular cusotmer at a restaurant I worked at. He always came in through the back door and sat the last table. I remember him telling us about his son, Vaughn going to West Point, he was very proud. We enjoyed talking to him very much.

Extending my deepest sympathy to the family of Herk Delong in his passing. I got to know Herk when I worked out of the Washington, Pa. Resident Agency of the FBI. Herk was always willing to help and lend a hand if the situation arose. Thank you Herk for your service to our country not only in the military, but also as a local law enforcement officer for many years. Rest in peace Herk as you served your country well. End of watch May 11, 2021. Jack Freiwald FBI Pittsburgh Division Special Agent (Retired)
