Stanley C. Heckathorn, age 72, of Pittsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Beloved husband of Lynn (Morgan) Heckathorn for 49 years; loving father of Debra (Greg) Delach; grandfather of Elizabeth Delach and bonus grandson Matthew Delach.

Born in Butler, PA to the late Jack and Kay Heckathorn, Stan and his sisters Cheryl Fry and Debra Heckathorn moved approximately eleventy million times, finally settling down in Bradford, PA.  After receiving his degree from Penn State, Stan switched his allegiance and worked for the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for 25 years.  Stan and Lynn then moved to Peterborough, NH to be closer to his sisters, and try out some different career paths.  After 20+ years in the granite state, Stan’s granddaughter convinced them to move to Pittsburgh, PA.

Stan loved to golf, fish, and clean the kitchen. He also enjoyed showers, pacing, the sun and buying things that no one would ever need.  We will all miss his kind heart and bad jokes.

Celebrations of Stan’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, Robinson Township. Memorial contributions may be made to a local animal rescue of your choice.
